Kílala Lelum (translation: Butterfly House)

The butterfly design is inspired by the monarch butterfly. The symbolism of this monarch butterfly means many can transform within their healing paths to be re-birthed into a new life. The elders and healers are the ones who help transform and offer the spiritual care. The large black circle around the monarch butterfly represents the healing journey one will endure for a lifetime. The colour purple in the body and wing is the modern spin of the medicine wheel in urban communities. The three Salish crescent form-lines in the large wing represent mental, physical and spiritual wellness. The four white circles in the wing represent grandfather and grandmother stones of the earth to help one with their health journey. The small wing represents the medicine wheel that can be interpreted as the four directions, seasons, and spiritual health.
