Medical Office Assistant (0.8 FTE) Temporary – 1 Year Maternity Leave Cover

The Opportunity The Medical Office Assistant (0.8 FTE) Temporary is an integral part of Kilala Lelum’s interdisciplinary healthcare team, working in conjunction with primary care providers (Physicians, Nurses, Nurse Practitioners), Allied Health professionals (Counsellors, Social Workers, Dieticians), and the Cultural Wellness team (Elders and Knowledge Keepers), to support members’ access to and experience of holistic, wrap-around care within the DTES community. The Medical Office Assistant’s role is to establish and maintain positive and engaging relationships with people living in the DTES, perform medical office duties (including referrals, maintaining clinical and non-clinical supplies, and updating Electronic Medical Records), work collaboratively with Kilala Lelum’s members and partners related to work duties, and perform other logistical and support duties as necessary at the Kilala Lelum Primary Care Clinic. The Opportunity We are seeking an Exercise Therapist/Kinesiologist (temporary one year) to join the Chronic Pain Management Program (CPMP) at Kilala Lelum. Job Summary The CPMP’s aim is to provide effective and culturally safe chronic pain care. We are seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) who is passionate about harm reduction and promoting health and wellness equity in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) to join our newest program and site, Doris Fox Lelum, at Kilala Lelum Health and Wellness Cooperative.Doris Fox Lelum is a new initiative to provide low-barrier access to cultural, medical, and harm reduction services for Indigenous people who use drugs (IPWUD) and Kilala Lelum members living with opioid use disorder. The purpose of Doris Fox Lelum is to reduce the harms experienced by Indigenous people who use drugs in the DTES by providing low barrier, drop-in programming and services in a less medicalized setting. We are seeking a Registered Nurse who is passionate about promoting health and wellness equity in the Downtown Eastside (DTES) to join the Relational Care Program at Kilala Lelum Health and Wellness Cooperative. Kilala Lelum aims to provide access to decolonized primary care, Allied Health services, and Elder-led cultural care to new and existing members (patients) accessing the Relational Care program through an outreach-based, culturally-safe, trauma-informed, member-centered, and harm reduction approach.Job Summary:The Relational Care Nurse (0.6 FTE), supported by an integrated health service team, will provide excellent culturally-safe nursing care to members accessing the Relational Care space drop-in program for food, medicine, and cultural connections. The Relational Care space is open 365 days a year from 08:30-1:30pm for daily breakfast and lunch.
