Kílala Lelum Urban Indigenous Health
and Healing Cooperative

Cultural Programming

Our centre offers a multitude of relationship-based care services that honour physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. Our Elders and Knowledge Keepers support the development of positive identity and connection to Indigenous teachings, medicines, songs, and culture through relationships that are non-judgmental and grounded in compassion. Services include: Indigenous Elder one-on-one visits, Elder-guided community circles, and culturally-focused community outings (when COVID safe!).

Cultural Wellness circles resume September 1, 2021. We look forward to seeing you soon!

We have in-house Elders who provide services for our members. One-on-one visits typically last an hour and provide spiritual and cultural guidance in order to support our members with their healthcare or personal concerns. Our Elders and Knowledge Keepers also lead and participate in cultural circles including Youth Nights, Drum Circles, and more!

Please contact our Cultural Wellness Manager Jody at jody.okabe@uihhc.ca with any questions about our Cultural Wellness program.
