Kílala Lelum Urban Indigenous Health
and Healing Cooperative

Cultural Programming

Our centre offers a multitude of relationship-based care services that honour physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing. Our Elders and Knowledge Keepers support the development of positive identity and connection to Indigenous teachings, medicines, songs, and culture through relationships that are non-judgmental and grounded in compassion. Services include: Indigenous Elder one-on-one visits, community cultural Elder-led circles, and culturally-focused community outings (when COVID safe!).

Please find this month’s Cultural Wellness schedule below!

We have in-house Elders who provide services for our members. One-on-one visits typically last an hour and provide spiritual and cultural guidance in order to support our members with their healthcare or personal concerns. Our Elders and Knowledge Keepers also lead and participate in cultural circles including Women’s Circles, Drum Circles, and more! Circles happen Monday-Thursday and are open to our members of the health centre and community members.

Please contact our Cultural Wellness Manager, Jody, with any questions at jody.okabe@uihhc.ca.
