Our centre offers a multitude of relationship-based care services that honour physical, mental, emotional and spiritual healing. Our Elders and Knowledge-Keepers support the development of a positive identity and a connection to Indigenous teachings, medicines, songs and culture through a connection that is non-judgmental and grounded in compassion. Services include: Indigenous Elder one-on-one visits, Community cultural Elder-led circles and culturally-focused community outings.
We have in-house Elders who provide services for our members. One-on-one visits typically last an hour and provide spiritual and cultural guidance in order to support our members with their healthcare or personal concerns. Our Elders also lead cultural circles including West Coast teachings, Ki Ya Nan, Drum Circles and more! See our latest events to join one of the circles. Circles happen Monday-Thursday and are open to our members and interested community members.
In the past, our field trip outings have included visiting UBC’s MOA and harvesting sage in Merritt. More recently, 30 of our staff and members visited the xʷc̓ic̓əsəm gardens up at UBC farm to learn about medicinal uses for herbs, how to harvest tobacco and to enjoy a beautiful summer day!
