Human Resources Coordinator (0.8 FTE)

We are seeking an individual who is passionate about health and wellness equity for Indigenous peoples and committed to culturally safe, trauma-informed care to join Kilala Lelum Health and Wellness Cooperative in the role of HR Coordinator. This person must be highly organized, an effective and thoughtful communicator, and possess a genuine desire to support our dynamic, multidisciplinary, growing staff team in their work as health and wellness providers. The ability to work autonomously, balance multiple priorities and tasks, and remain calm and considerate is vital in our fast-paced workplace. This position requires excellent administrative and interpersonal skills and an understanding of the complexities of working in a nonprofit health centre in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside (DTES).

Job Summary:

The HR Coordinator will work very closely with, and report to, the HR and Administrative Lead.

The HR Coordinator will support the development and implementation of our human resources policies, procedures, and practices. Contributions will be made in the following areas: recruitment, hiring, and retention; onboarding and orientation; staff education and development; payroll, time and attendance, and extended benefits; and other areas of documentation and records management. The HR Coordinator will work closely with the Admin team (which includes the HR & Admin Lead, Admin Coordinator, Accountant/Controller, Development and Communications Specialist, Facilities Coordinator, and Executive Director) to support the administrative and personnel needs of all of Kilala Lelum’s programs and teams. We are seeking an individual with a strong interest in grounding our human resources in an Indigenous framework that incorporates principles of anti-racism, decolonization, diversity, equity and inclusion while upholding relevant required legal and ethical frameworks.
